Athens Christian Preparatory is an independent 501c3 formed for the purpose of private non-denominational christian education at the high school level.  We are structured with two levels of boards for accountability: 1-An Executive Board and: 2-A School Board.

We are temporarily housed in the First Christian Church at 900 Robbins Road until such time as a permanent facility can be arranged.

We offer a full range of classes for grades 9-12 as required by the state of Texas for full graduation honors. 

Philosophy of Education

The educational philosophy of Athens Christian Preparatory Academy is that the truth of God permeates all academic subjects and should not be taught in isolation.  Education from a Biblical Worldview that focuses on God, his infallible word, and His Creation, reveals to us his character and nature.  We are heirs to a throne with Christ and therefore encourage the pursuit of  excellence in academics, fine arts, and community service.

A Unique Model of Education

ACP has created a unique model of education that in many ways mimics the way a university or college functions.  Our courses run on the same track (every other day) that many colleges use.  This prepares a student for more self-managed time than the usual high school experience.  Students become accustomed to  a college-like  schedule by the time they graduate.  We also combine the best of prep school curriculum with a strong fine arts program.  We achieve all of this by integrating across the curriculum whenever possible.  We call this our ICM Model - Integrated Collegiate Magnet.

Remember Fun???

We have a saying at ACP...work hard then play hard.  We reserve Fridays for that very purpose.  Fridays are used for field trips (avg. one a month); special speakers and workshops; or integrated hands-on studies for topics such as Astronomy, Media Arts, or World Cultures.
